Politis, 30/04/09 - Adopting more or less the Alliance’s positions, Xavier Frison’s article gives an interesting overview of the production conditions of schoolbooks in Africa. The sincerity of Jean-Michel Ollé (Hachette Livre international) is worth mentioning: “Textbooks purchase by the states with the help of the World Bank create a situation dominated by big publishers. This leaves us with an almost exclusive dominion over the textbook market, excluding straightaway local publishers”.
