La editorial independiente Between the Lines (BTL) fue fundada en 1977. En BTL somos fieles a nuestro mandato inicial: publicar obras escritas por autores canadienses que presenten un abordaje progresista de retos sociales y culturales. Por ello, nuestra misión es brindar recursos de calidad a favor de un cambio social equitativo. Los ensayos son nuestra especialidad. Tratan de temas de política y políticas públicas, abordan retos sociales, la historia canadiense y mundial, el desarrollo internacional, cuestiones vinculadas a los pueblos originarios, el género/la sexualidad, las cuestiones raciales, el trabajo y la mano de obra, el medio ambiente y los medios de comunicación. Los libros de BTL portan voces que suelen pasar inadvertidas dentro de la corriente dominante e incentivan a nuestros lectores a que piensen diferente. En el seno del Comité editorial, la toma de decisiones es regida por principios democráticos y se basa en el consenso.

Between the Lines asks people to read critically, to think about the world differently, and not to get stuck in factional party lines.
