País de publicación : Burkina Faso

Preparatory and thematic workshop of the International Assembly of Independent Publishers

8 African publishers publishing in national languages and representing Burkinabe NGOs will meet in Ouagadougou in June for the 4th workshop of the International Assembly of Independent Publishers.
Through sharing experiences amongst fellow publishers and inputs from various actors, the workshop’s issues include:
* raising public authorities’ awareness on the development of learning in national languages;
* drafting practical proposals addressed to organisations working for the advancement of local languages;
* formulating recommendations addressed to book professionals and advocating the creation of a local languages book fair and the development of African languages publishing projects.

The Alliance thanks the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) for its support.
